CLASS SESSION #15 – THURSDAY, AUGUST 27, 2020
Presenter: Dr. Oscar Owens
In this post we will explore the spiritual discipline of practicing the presence of God. Jesus said in Matthew 28:20 that he would always be with his followers. The Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Christ, now permanently lives within believers (see John 14:16-17). Practicing the presence of God involves learning how to cultivate an awareness of the Holy Spirit in the Christian life.
We hope that you enjoy the two videos in this session. The first video is a short presentation of the main topic by Dr. Owens. The second video is a recording of the entire Zoom class. May these videos help you to grow in your awareness of God’s presence and to fellowship with the Lord on a daily basis.
If you have not done so already, please sign up for this blog at the bottom of the page to be alerted of new posts by the Three Bible Teachers. Do not forget to access the class materials and additional resources that are available through the “Quick Links” section.

Homework from Dr. Owens
The Lord Jesus Christ promised to be with us always. Find ways this week to acknowledge him during various moments of the day. Remind yourself of the Lord’s presence by praying this simple prayer: “Lord, you are with me now. I am here with you.” Then choose to do something in response to his presence. For example, you can respond to the Lord with praise or thanksgiving. You could also simply tell the Lord that you love him. I invite you to review the different spiritual disciplines that we have already learned this summer as ways to practice the presence of the Lord. These disciplines can be explored at any time and can help you to gain a moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day, week by week awareness of the Lord’s presence.
